Blossom
From the There Came a Day collection. 30" x 40" x 1.5”. Acrylic and china marker on gallery-wrapped canvas by Wendy Pabich. This painting arose from a sentiment of spring, a longing for soft, warm air and the smell of blossoms, and an intuitive hit of pink. Using the rounded end of a soft foam roller, I sculpted, swirled and dabbed paint into blossoms and leaves, applying opaque color as background in later steps, a reverse process which resulted in an almost mysterious unveiling of final form.
